Contemporary Issues Reading Circles
The Contemporary Issues Reading Circles provide a collaborative space for students to explore the complexities of the modern world through different themes. Centered on core Humanities concepts such as globalisation, decolonisation, and migration, the programme encourages students to interpret diverse sources and engage in peer-led discussions. Through this process, students hone their critical thinking, communication, and global literacy, becoming more thoughtful observers of the world around them.
Humanities and Social Sciences Research Programme by the Gifted Education Branch (HSSRP)
The HSSRP aims to provide IP3 and 4 students who have an interest in the Humanities and Social Sciences with an opportunity to engage in research under the guidance of academic researchers and lecturers. Students deepen their understanding of issues in the fields of the Humanities and Social Sciences and knowledge of relevant research methods used. They also develop skills in communication, interpretation, linking and synthesising domains of knowledge, and a passion for independent learning.
Model United Nations (MUNs)
Model United Nations (MUN) conferences offer students a practical introduction to global politics and the art of diplomacy. By role-playing as country delegates, students research and debate international issues to reach shared solutions in a simulated committee setting. This experience helps participants strengthen their public speaking, research, and negotiation skills while building a clearer understanding of world affairs.
Creative Arts Programme (CAP)
The Creative Arts Programme (CAP) provides a vibrant platform for IP students with a flair for writing to hone their craft under the mentorship of established local writers and poets. Through a dedicated seminar and an optional mentorship phase, participants explore various literary forms, including poetry, prose, and playwriting, to refine their creative expression and voice.
Interdisciplinary Overseas Learning Journey
The Interdisciplinary Overseas Learning Journey brings together students from the Humanities (RHS) and STEM Talent Development programmes for an immersive, cross-border collaboration. Partnering with peers in Vietnam, students participate in a hackathon-style challenge to propose innovative solutions for real-world problems. Students also get a chance to explore contexts such as eco-tourism, urban planning, and sustainability and experience firsthand how STEM and the Humanities intersect.
Tier 1 Experience Workshops
The Tier 1 Experience Workshops offer students an introduction to the diverse fields within the Humanities through a series of skills-based sessions. Students work together in groups on the creation of a final product which synthesizes their learning to demonstrate a deeper understanding of Humanities concepts. By sharing these projects with their peers, students not only showcase their work but also contribute to a collaborative culture of inquiry.
