Cedar Girls' First President's Scholar |
Ms Chow Yi Ling, 19, is the first President's Scholar from Cedar Girls' Secondary School, where she completed Secondary 1 and 2 before joining the integrated programme at Victoria Junior College in 2006. She found a calling in public service when she volunteered to help refurbish an orphange in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2007. When she returned to Singapore, she signed up to become a member of Hougang Youth Executive Committee, helping to organise events for residents. "I saw what it was like to help people and give back to society," she said. She will be studying philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Warwick. |
